Tired

I'm tired today. The cover-up resistant bags under my eyes are testament to that fact. I was so excited yesterday at my energy level. Was it unrealistic to expect that to continue? Yes. I'm only 13 days post chemo (and it was the 6th body-crushing one at that).

But I'm getting better at listening to my body and will try to rest more today. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither will the healthier Tina.

That's it. I don't have anything new or inspiring to say today. I'm not sure how many people are continuing to read this blog every day anyway (after five months). I know I still have a few followers (my dad checks my blog to see how I'm feeling and wondered about Sunday when I didn't post). But now that the major treatments are done, I wonder if anyone is still interested in regular updates.

I have my appointment with a doctor at the cancer clinic tomorrow to talk about clinical trials and I will keep you up-to-date on that progress.

Have a great day,
Tina

  1. Tina I am following with interest. I found that after the chemo and the radiation, that was the time I needed to talk to people. The worries the ways that you deal with it.
The journey the major part is complete but now the journey after the treatments. If you feel like blogging do it. You know I will be following it closely. My computer has been sick and I am using my old one. Had to call Aunt Dianna to get the address, sorry love.

  2. Hi Honey,,,
I can imagine that it's hard sitting on the other side of the keyboard wondering if you're actually touching people with your writings or whether you're doing it for your own self gratification. I think you pouring out your emotions, fears, symptoms, bad days, good days, worries, triumphs etc has helped you as much us realize the daily struggles you've been having. You will be able to go back whenever you need to previous blogs and say 'oh yeah, I remember that day'. It's funny because when I open your blog page it comes up as your very first blog writing. It's hard to imagine that it was way back in April. Time passes quickly, yet some days seem like an eternity to live through when you're not feeling well.

Tina, you've helped each of us realize the trials of going through cancer, the treatments, the fears, the reality. Many of us (I'm positive) still check our computers hourly to see when you post and the 'topic of the day'. It makes me feel like I visit with you everyday, even if it's just by reading your blog.

Write when you like, if it's daily, we will read it, if it's weekly, we'll still read it. If you want to stop writing, you can do that too... but we'll definately miss visiting with you daily. (no, no pressure,,, really)
    xoxo

  4. Tina, I read your blog every day. I got a chuckle today when you compared yourself with Rome.

  7. Tina,
Wierd as it sounds, it has become a habit to read what you have to say. You are a writer. Readers need writers. So, please keep blogging, and be ok that your blogs will be about what you made for dinner, or something cute that Tara said, or the upcoming vacation with your honey. Your perspective on those activities as an ovarian cancer survivor will probably affect your musings, but the most important thing about your thoughts are that they are yours, and they are interesting because they are yours. Every writer has a slump (even Steven King), but if you keep writing, you will get through it. (BTW, his book "On Writing" might be one you want to read (non-fiction)). So, until tomorrow's blog...love you!

  8. Hey -- I look you up every morning. Facebook, e-mail, Tina's blog. And get this. I usually get to your blog BEFORE the newspaper. That's saying something!

Just think, you could be the new "Julie and Juila"!
